P.O.S: "Fuck Your Stuff" (Music Video)

Here is the epic, cameo-packed new video for P.O.S's "Fuck Your Stuff," directed by Isaac Gale and David Jensen. Like all of P.O.S's new material, the song is a monster in live performances, and gets fans in full-out riot mode. The video captures that similar energy — there's dancing, graffiti, a plethora of blurred out insignia, and lots and lots of fire. This is part of the anti-corporate, non-materialistic, posture-free section of life that P.O.S is referencing with his album title, We Don't Even Live Here. The song and video for "Fuck Your Stuff" may inspire some new people to seek that out as well.

Just yesterday P.O.S performed at the Current's booth at the MN State Fair in support of his upcoming album We Don't Even Live Here. P.O.S was briefly interviewed by Mary Lucia and spoke about the meaning of the album, his song writing process, the differences between writing solo and for Doomtree, and more. He also performed four songs, including his latest trunk rattler/party starter/face melter "Bumper." I was there to witness it all. It was fun. P.O.S: "Bumper"

This morning delivered one of the best possible surprises with the official lead single to P.O.S's upcoming album, We Don't Even Live Here, due on October 23. I'm pretty sure I've seen "Bumper" played live once or twice — I've definitely heard the brilliant "They on some nonsense, we on some nonstop" hook before — but getting to dissect the studio version is exciting as it hints at what we can expect from the album, which you can read about further on in this post.

To say Minneapolis' Wag movement is starting to reach any sort of niche cultural significance would be selling it short. Franz Diego is hosting multiple parties per month at Minneapolis venues. The term is reliably blowing up on my Twitter timeline. P.O.S. and Mike Mictlan: "Get Down" (Live in Madison, WI)

To the best of my knowledge, P.O.S. has been performing the unreleased song "Get Down" for about a year now. The first time I saw it was in April of 2011 at the University of Minnesota's Spring Jam. P.O.S. performed practically the whole concert standing on a chair in the crowd, and everyone went nuts to "Get Down." Lately, the song seems to be one of the nightly hits on the No Kings tour. The above video is P.O.S. and Mictlan performing "Get Down" to an absolutely packed student union at the University of Wisconisin - Madison.

Hand Over Fist: "Shux ft. P.O.S." + "Hand Over Fist" (Live)

Mike Mictlan and Lazerbeak united for a semi-rare Hand Over Fist show on Thursday night at the Triple Rock. I biked to Target Field for the Twins game with some friends, and told them that we should go to this show afterward. Long story short, we didn't end up making it to the show, and I lost out big time. Here is some video of P.O.S. joining Hand Over Fist on stage to perform "Shux" and "Hand Over Fist."

GAYNGS: "No Sweat" (Live at Coachella)

GAYNGS closed out opening night at Coachella with a fantastic set. Everyone got a chance to be featured, from Justin Vernon to Har Mar Superstar to P.O.S. Here P.O.S. breaking it down for "No Sweat." There was plenty of MN pride at the show too. It was beautiful seeing everyone throwing up the GAYNGS sign; a few people scattered throughout the crowd were repping the Wings + Teeth too. Then to open up the next day at Coachella I caught Duluth bluegrass band Trampled By Turtles throwing it down on the main stage. Minnesota represent.

Lazerbeak performed some songs from his Legend Recognize Legend solo release at The Current, complete with an all star lineup of local rap celebrities.

Muja Messiah: "Dear God ft. P.O.S."

Here's a freebie from Muja Messiah's latest mixtape M-16s, available at Fifth Element. He really thrives within the loose confines of mixtapes, given free reign to rap about whatever the hell he wants and have fun doing it. This track was a highlight, especially with P.O.S. spazzing on the guest verse.

Rhymesayers Radio (9/25/2010)

I usually don't post these radio episodes (maybe I should start), but this one is unique. RSE Radio holds a weekly show hosted by Siddiq on KFAI Fresh Air Community Radio. Twice a year the station holds a pledge drive to help keep the broadcast commercial free. To promote this occasion, RSE brought in a ton of special guests: Slug, Brother Ali, P.O.S., Lazerbeak, M.anifest, Mike Mictlan, Travis McCoy, and Astronautalis. Some of these artists got some time to discuss recent projects of theirs and more, and a freestyle cipher may or may not, but definitely did break out at one point.

Seeing P.O.S. complete with his live band for the first time during Soundset 2010 was quite an amazing experience. If you ever get the chance to check him out, do it. P.O.S. at Coachella Record Store Day (Video) + "Never Better" (LIve at Triple Rock 4/13/10)

P.O.S. gave a brief interview at the Zia Records pop-up store on Record Store Day while at Coachella. City Pages blog Gimme Noise posted some reviews of his show, where he debuted his full band to a large-scale audience. Their first official concerts together, though, were in a series of 3 warm-up shows in the Twin Cities. Empty's Tapes was able to get some audio of them performing "Never Better," which I posted below.
