Lazerbeak: 'Legend Recognize Legend' Album Promo (Video)

Can't leave Big Sean up on top forever, gotta get some real shit to lead off MWB. My two favorite parts of this video: 1) Beak cracking the PBR in a Doomtree koozie at 29secs, 2) Beak in his fur coat on top of a building at 46secs. Baller status.

Seriously though, preorder Legend Recognize Legend at the Doomtree website.

Big Sean: Finally Famous, Vol. 3 (Mixtape)

The third mixtape in G.O.O.D. Music artist Big Sean's Finally Famous series is here. Perhaps he'll get a little more famous if he puts out an album. Who knows? Maybe it'll even be half-decent.

Lazlo Supreme: "Feather Lighter" (Music Video)

Three-piece Minneapolis hip-hop group Lazlo Supreme just released this new music video. Along the same vein as the recent (and undeniably catchy) Ceel-Lo Green music video. These guys are really quite good and I hope to hear more from them soon.

Fifth Element Thursday Night Events Promo (Video)

As Medium Zach says, you can't go wrong visiting Fifth Element on a Thursday night, as there is a different event each Thursday of the month. So head on over to Uptown.

In the meantime, make sure to check out the sleek, streamlined new Fifth Element website.

F. Stokes: "Wait A minute"

Chicago's F. Stokes let loose some new heat off his upcoming Baked Goods mixtape.

Guante at National Poetry Slam (Video)

I would say it's safe to assume that many of you do not know that Guante's slam poetry team recently repeated as national champions at the recent National Poetry Slam in downtown Saint Paul. Here is footage of him performing his poem in the semifinals. Rather powerful stuff. Congrats to Guante and the whole team.

Guante & Big Cats! will also be releasing a free mixtape in the near future, titled Don't Be Nice. Word from their camp is that the tape will feature some new stuff, some older stuff, and some live material, and that it will be less dark and dense than their latest LP.

Franz Diego: Catch A Case Mondays (Video)

Funny story: I was getting a late-morning breakfast with my homie at the Sunny Side Up Cafe on Lyndale last week, when all of a sudden I see Franz Diego cruise by no handed on his bike, listening to music in his headphones. Apparently Franz does, in fact, bike all over the metro area.

On another note, it probably would have been helpful for me to post this yesterday, or last weekend, but I'm late. There's always next Monday!

Lipset: "Distortion" + 'Level Heads LP' Announcement (Video)

I've been slow on the uptake lately, and with lots of new local music being sent my way it's time to play a little catch up. There will be plenty of posts all day highlighting some of the work being created by many of the Twin Cities' independent musicians. First up is rapper Lipset's new track "Distortion" off his forthcoming Level Heads LP.

Black Milk: "Deadly Medley ft. Royce Da 5'9" & Elzhi" (Music Video)

When any combination of these three Detroit artists collaborate, it tends to be a heater. This one is no different. Black Milk's Album of the Year will be out September 14. Props to Nah Right.

P.O.S.: "Purexed" (Live)

Here is some video of P.O.S. performing one of his best cuts of Never Better at Flushing Meadows Skate Park. Seeing P.O.S. complete with his live band for the first time during Soundset 2010 was quite an amazing experience. If you ever get the chance to check him out, do it. There's more footage of the set at this website. Peace to Rhymesayers.

dumate: Making of "Thankful"

Madison, WI group dumate recently recorded their new track "Thankful", here is the 'Making Of' video. In other dumate news, they recently put their excellent 2009 LP We Have The Technology available for free download online. I highly recommend checking that out.

Brother Ali at Pizza Luce Block Party (Video)

Just dug this up on YouTube. Brother Ali and DJ Snuggles fought through a little bit of rain at the start of the show to put on a quite incredible set. Ali always strikes me as one of the artists who is consistently improving his live show. He adds a new element to the set each time I see him. Last Saturday's Pizza Luce Block Party was no different. Amazing time.

Atmosphere: "To All My Friends"

Atmosphere just put out a new song to help get fans excited for their upcoming tour. They performed this one at Soundset, too, it's a great live track. YouTube stream only, because you gotta purchase it on iTunes if you really want it.

No more posts for the day, because I'm off to the Pizza Luce Block Party. Dessa, Prof, and Brother Ali will all rock the stage (among other local acts Red Pens and Lookbook), so if you've got the free time definitely head over to Uptown.

Lupe Fiasco: "Scream" (Live in South Korea)

The

YouTube tag doesn't specify which Korea Lupe is performing in, but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume it's not North Korea. Lasers coming... soon?

Kanye West: "Power" (Music Video)

I suppose this is actually the 'Portrait of Power', but who am I to tell? Pretty epic, regardless. I hope a full version gets released at some point.
