Welcome to MN Tour (First Ave, 2/22/12)
The image above is one of the two lackluster iPhone photos I took at last night's Atmosphere/Kill the Vultures/Big Quarters/MaLLy/BK-One show for the second annual Welcome to Minnesota tour. I did it to at least have something to share in this write up, but in all honesty that lineup was way too stacked for me to have been doing anything but enjoying the entire night. I made it to First Ave about 10 minutes before MaLLy's opening set, found an open spot on the floor next to the sound/lighting booth, and didn't leave for the rest of the night. Hit the jump to read my thoughts on the show.

Atmosphere: "Became" (Music Video)
As I have detailed in previous posts, Atmosphere's music video for "Became" was created in conjunction with the Minnesota School and Business and the Minnesota Transitions High School’s Digital Media Academy. The video was officially released today. Watch it above, and if you haven't done so yet, be sure to watch the mini-documentary chronicling the making of the music video.

Documentary: The Making of Atmosphere's "Became" Music Video
In early January I wrote about Atmosphere's video for "Became," filmed in collaboration with the Minnesota School and Business and the Minnesota Transitions High School’s Digital Media Academy. The video was created between October 2011 and January 2012, and during that time a documentary was filmed about the project. Today, Rhymesayers shared that mini-doc. Be on the lookout for the official music video soon. Atmosphere's The Family Sign is available now.

Atmosphere: "Became" (Music Video Trailer)
Atmosphere and Rhymesayers will be releasing the music video for "Became," from their 2011 album The Family Sign, in collaboration with the Minnesota School and Business and the Minnesota Transitions High School’s Digital Media Academy. In an effort to support creative arts and local education, Rhymesayers reached out to the two schools and gave them the opportunity to produce this music video. The video above is a trailer for the music video's official release. The full music video for "Became" and a documentary about the creative process will screen at Fifth Element on January 19.
Visit the Rhymesayers website to learn more about the event.
RSVP to the screening at Fifth Element on Facebook.

Similar to last year's "Minnesota Nice," all the acts on this mini-tour made a song together. Stream/download it below.

Atmosphere: "The Last To Say" (Music Video)

Atmosphere: "Until The Nipples Gone" + "The Last To Say" (Live at Bonnaroo)
Here's some video of Atmosphere performing at Bonnaroo couple weeks ago. Atmosphere often gets mid-to-late afternoon time slots at big music festivals, but seem to always draw a huge crowd. I had a friend who went to Bonnaroo this year and he told me that Atmosphere tore it down. Hit this link to view a few more videos from their set. Atmosphere is on the road right now and you can also catch them in a festival setting at Lollapalooza in August.

The album is in stores today. And it's beautiful, as you can see from this video. But the real question is why has mine not come in the mail yet???

'Seven Years with Atmosphere and Rhymesayers' Book Signing in LA (Video)
To celebrate a promote the release of their book, Slug and Dan Monick spent some time at Turntable Lab in Los Angeles to hang out with fans. I know LA is a big market, but I still find it amazing t0 see fans lining up outside a venue that far away from home, and not for a concert, but a book signing. Seven Years with Atmosphere and Rhymesayers is an absolutely beautiful book and is available now.
