Rhymefest: Dangerous: 5-18 (Mixtape)

Nah Right presented Rhymefest's latest mixtape, a prelude to his often-delayed yet still anticipated sophomore LP El Che, out on May 18 (same day as LCD Soundsystem, which I'm even more geeked for, ha!). Mixed by DJ RTC.

Rhymefest & Skyzoo: "Crack The Code" (Prod. K Salaam & Beatnik)

This came out a few days ago, and I'm late on it. I've been busy. So sue me.

Produced by NYC via MPLS transplants K-Salaam & Beatnik.

Rhymefest: "Letter"

Presumably off 'Fest's much delayed El Che. Who knows what's happening with that project, wasn't it supposed to be released in 2008 at one point? Let's hope it sees the light of day sometime.

Rhymefest: "Angry Black Man on an Elevator" + "Binary Code"

Here are two songs that will not make the cut for Rhymefest's endlessly delayed El Che. I swear this album was supposed to come out in 2008 or something; who knows what's happening now. Also included is an interesting "making of" video for "Angry Black Man on an Elevator," which was produced by Lil' Jon. YEEAAAAAAAH!

All of this scoped at 2DopeBoyz.

Rhymefest Protests At Chicago's City Hall (Video)

Via Andrew at FakeShoreDrive:
Rhymefest took to the steps of City Hall yesterday to protest with a rather large group in hopes to bring jobs to the black community on the Southside of Chicago. More specifically, a Walmart, that Alderman Howard Brookins is trying to build on 83rd & Chatham, that will bring close to 300 jobs to the area. 'Fest in particular also hopes this will also bring fresh produce and food to this community, that does most of their grocery shopping at 7/11's and BP stations.

Ruby Hornet TV Presents 'The Rhymefest Interview' (Trailer)

You don't often see a trailer for an interview. According to RubyHornet, they sat down with Rhymefest and "talked...and talked...and talked...The result will now and forever be referred to as 'The Rhymefest Interview', and will be coming raw and uncut at the end of the week." Below is a little preview of what to expect.

Rhymefest & Crucial Conflict: "Mouth"

El Che and another Chicago heavyweight, Crucial Conflict, teamed up a while back to record a track dedicated to females and their unfortunate mouth infections. Props to Andrew for premiering the track, I jacked his download link.

Rhymefest: "SuperSonic (Chucky Cheese)" (Charles Hamilton Diss)

OUCH. People had been talking about this for a while, and it finally leaked. I believe Rhymefest may have even said on Twitter that this is his first official diss track (obviously excluding his Scribble Jam battles, etc.), but I could be mixtaken. If not, it's a rare occasion seeing El Che really go after another rapper. My favorite line is, "If I see him, I'll probably pee on him." Haha. This will be on Rhymefest's upcoming mixtape The Manual.

Update: Rhymefest explains via Myspace the whole story behind this beef. (Click to read)

Rhymefest: "Coolness"

After a far too long hiatus, Rhymefest is back with a track from his upcoming mixtape, El Che: The Manual, obviously a prelude to his highly anticipated sophomore album, El Che. The mixtape should be dropping sometime soon, and the album later this year.
