Kanye West: "Chain Heavy ft. Talib Kweli & Consequence" (Prod. Q-Tip)

Yet another GOOD Friday track from Kanye. This one was initially rumored to be on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but it didn't make the final cut. It will be a bonus track on the deluxe iTunes version of the album. It's an spectacular track. On first impression, I think this absolutely ranks among Q-Tip's best productions, which is no easy feat.

When GOOD Fridays are all said and done, I challenge anyone to rank to songs from best to worst.

Consequence: "Whatever You Want ft. Kanye West & John Legend"

The Grammy Family returns for the first single off of Consequence's Cons TV. Shouts to NahRight on the artwork and the links — I have to run to a couple meetings right now so I had no time to upload things myself.

Q-Tip: "We Fight We Love (Remix) ft. Kanye West, Raphael Saadiq, & Consequence" (CDQ)

What a pleasant surprise to an otherwise drab morning. Kanye West and Consequence get down to a remix from the Q-Tip song "We Fight We Love," off the best album of 2008 (in my opinion). No Raphael Saadiq on this one, which is a little sad, but this is a great remix nonetheless. Either Tip or 'Ye tweaked the beat a little bit, too; I always like it when the remix is over a fresh new beat. Sorry for the low-res picture above, that was the best I could do with a quick Google image search. Shout out to Shake for the link!

Update: CD-quality version, now featuring Raphael Siddiq (they must have listened to me!), released via NahRight. I brought it back up to the top because it's better quality.

Kanye West: "Gone" + "Drive Slow" + "Spaceship" (Video)

More footage keeps surfacing from the G.O.O.D. Music showcase at SXSW. This time it comes from RapRadar. First up, Kanye gets some assistance from Consequence and GLC for a medley of "Gone" and "Drive Slow." The second video is the performance of my favorite Kanye song of all-time, "Spaceship ft. GLC & Consequence." All video to surface thus far indicates it was a pretty special evening at SXSW, although Pitchfork said otherwise about 'Ye's showing:
West's own questionable engagement spoke volumes. He flubbed lyrics on "We Major" and "Diamonds From Sierra Leone", and on "Crack Music" he quit two lines into the first verse, admitting, "That's all I remember." He was unapologetic about these mistakes. That was then, before Kanye made stadium rap and wounded robot laments.
Whatever, still wish I could have been there. Maybe a trip to Austin is in the works for 2010.

Behind The Beats, Vol. 5: Consequence's "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly ft. Kanye West"

I realized it had been a pretty long time since I dropped one of these off for you all. Here's the sample used in the Kanye-produced, Kanye-featuring track from Consequence's 2007 debut album, Don't Quit Your Day Job! Ye nicely flipped "I Wish You Were Here," a typically smooth cut from The Reverend Al Green's 1975 album, Al Green Is Love. And make sure to check back in a few days for my next Behind The Beats post, it'll be a doozy.

Kanye West: Freestyle (Video)

Kanye's Glow In The Dark Tour stopped through London town the other day, and Kanye did a long and epic freestyle session. That man knows how to put on a show. Believe that I'm pissed that I couldn't catch the GIDT in the states because I was in London this summer, and now that I'm back he's doing his Europe section. Damn! At least I saw Jigga, and Atmosphere and Brother Ali.

This video below is footage of the afterparty, and features the incredible all-star lineup of Nas, Mos Def, Consequence, De La Soul and KiD CuDi. But beware, it's extremely poor sound quality.
