Here is the lead single to Unknown Prophets' World Premier 2. Hard to believe World Premier came out a decade ago. The World Premier 2 release party will be on 11/11/11 at the Triple Rock.

Big Jess: "Incredible ft. Jellyfish"

Big Jess of Unknown Prophets is planning all sorts of musical treats for us in 2011. First, he is getting set to release his 4th solo album, the double disc project Self Therapy/Good Clean Fun 3 in the spring of 2011. This first single "Incredible" features Jellyfish and is off of the Good Clean Fun 3 side.

Also keep in mind that Unknown Prophets are working on their long-awaited followup to World Premier, World Premier 2.

aboveGround Magazine caught up with Unknown Prophets prior to their album release party for Le System D.

Unknown Prophets: "Hate Face ft. Grieves"

One of the Twin Cities most slept on groups, Unknown Prophets, is back after a 3-year hiatus and ready to release their long awaited album, Le System D. This is their lead single, "Hate Face," a very mature sound for the group. The album has an exciting concept, I'll let Big Jess sum it up:

Le System D is an original composition, free of samples, and one that yet again takes the listener in a different direction. Scheduled for release December 1st, with a release show to follow in First Avenue's mainroom (December 3rd with Cunninlynguists, Grieves, and Looptroop), the UPs have created their own fresh, mature new sound. Their first single, "HATE FACE", features Grieves, and is that in your face break up song that we can all relate to at least once in our lives. The album also has appearances from Braille, New MC, Promoe of Looptroop, and Aaron Cosgrove of New Congress. The Unknown Prophets are one of the first groups that introduced me to the Twin Cities hip-hop scene. I remember bumping "Never ft. Slug" at my homie's house after school before I even knew who Slug was. Essentially, if you don't know who the group is, do some research.

As for this track, I saw on Big Jess' Twitter that they dropped a new song on their Myspace page. I more or less begged him for an mp3 to post on Midwest Broadcast, and he kindly obliged my request. This sanguine song, featuring New MC of Kanser, will be on their upcoming album, Le System D, which should be dropping sometime in the fall of 2009.
