"Good One" is the second single to get a music video from MaLLy and the Sundance Kid's excellent album The Last Great... The album is one of the stronger local or national rap releases of the year so far, and it's a free album, so if you don't have it by now, make sure to download it or purchase the physical copy from local retailers like Electric Fetus, Fifth Element or Cheapo.

Today marks the release of MaLLy & the Sundance Kid's debut album, The Last Great... It's been a long time coming. I first posted music from MaLLy when he hit me up with The Passion in July of 2009. Since then, he's given us the Free on the 15th series, multiple excellent music videos, and a steady stream of increasingly high profile concerts, culminating with his Soundset slot a year ago and his well-deserved opening spot on this year's Welcome to MN tour. Needless to say, however, the wait's been well worth it.

The Last Great... is a terrific album by two artists who are firing on all cylinders. If you need further convincing, I'll let the music speak for itself. MaLLy & the Sundance Kid: "Shine"

"Shine" is the lead single from MaLLy's debut album with the Sundance Kid, The Last Great..., due on May 15. If I remember correctly MaLLy opened his set at First Ave during the Welcome to MN tour with this song, and it had the place rocking. It's got the perfect vibe for a lead single: a catchy hook, a banging beat from Sundance, and plenty of room for MaLLy to flex his considerable lyrical skills. The Last Great... seems to be dropping at just the right time; I've got a feeling it'll be a soundtrack for the summer. "Once We're Kings" is the latest song from MaLLy and The Sundance Kid's excellent Free on the 15th series to get video treatment. All you need to have a good time is an adult tricycle and a bottle of whiskey — #WelcomeToMN.

Behold, Mally's very professional and polished debut music video. Mally and The Sundance Kid are continuing to make a splash in the Minneapolis rap scene, and I'm always excited to see what their next move is.

Here's another track from Mally and The Sundance Kid. They've been releasing these monthly songs for a while now, hopefully the duo leaks some information regarding the drop of an official EP or LP. Here's what Mally had to say about "7 Days":

7 Days is a musical tale of when a boy sees a girl and is instantly hooked so much so, that he willingly learns everything about her. The infatuation this boy has (as many might) becomes so strong that they can explain what the girl does from the time she goes to work all the way down to how she chews her food on a Tuesday. In this case, the chase just might be better than the catch... Or is it?

It's beginning to get difficult to heap praise on Mally and The Sundance Kid for their monthly releases, because each song they've done together is equally deserving of lavish praise. The music these two are putting out is easily among the best being created by Twin Cities hip-hop artists lately, and some of my personal favorite music to be released, regardless of region or genre. So, there you have it. Another month, another terrific track from Mally and The Sundance Kid.

As you should already be aware, Mally and The Sundance Kid have been putting out tracks together for a few months. It seems like each new song is as dope as the previous one, and they've really been killing it in the local scene. To start out the new year, they've got another track for us, "Cloud Culture". Expect their collaborative album to be released in the spring.

The midpoint of every month is quickly becoming a cause for celebration in the Twin cities hip-hop community, as Mally and The Sundance Kid continue to take the scene by storm by releasing one banging collaborative track every four weeks. Here's the newest track in the monthly Illuminous Free series. The trio from Minneapolis hooks up with The Sundance Kid, who's got an exciting project in the works with Mally. They also grabbed Doomtree rhymer Mike Mictlan for the track. Great stuff from the crew.

Mally has been a monster in the Twin Cities underground hip-hop scene, holding it down for over a year and running. Which, while I'm on topic, begs the question: why did he not get a performance slot on the Fifth Element stage at Soundset? Regardless, he's some new heat from the rhyme spitter, with production from The Sundance Kid. This is the first of many songs that Mally and The Sundance Kid will be releasing from their collaborative EP. Check back on the 15th of every month until it comes out in Spring of 2011.
