Peter Parker's Soundset 2010 Recap (Video)

Rising from the ashes like phoenix, Midwest Broadcast returns. Sorry it took so long. Not only was this a great break (from everything, not just blogging), but I'm at a stage in my life where being a frequent blogger is a lesser priority than it once used to be (unless I start getting seriously paid off this site, ha!). But really now, let's get caught up on some things. This Soundset 2010 recap should be a good starting point.

I somewhat sarcastically quipped about not hearing anything from Muja a while back, and naturally Jon Jon at Sound Verite caught notice. As expected, he promptly hit me with some new material from one of MPLS' finest, but I have been a little delayed in posting it. This track appeared on Peter Parker's recent Grind Season Go Getters, Vol. 1 mixtape which was hosted by J. Cole and featured several artists including A.R.M., Sims, and Prof.

Peter Parker interviewed (if you want to call this an interview) Slug and Ant separately during Soundset 2009. Don't get to see Ant doing the talking often. He was a little preoccupied with his cigarette and corndogs though.

Took a little posting hiatus to let Flyover Land, Vol. 1 sit at the top for a couple days. But I'm back, and on to bigger things, namely Soundset 2009, which I will be attending tomorrow. Slug recently did an interview on B96 to speak with Peter Parker about the festival, among other things.

In other Slug news, City Pages (via Decider's recent interview with Slug) reported that Slug and Murs are preparing to release Felt 3. However, we don't know who produced it, and we don't know which female celebrity this edition is dedicated to. Any guesses? A special, yet-to-be-decided prize will be awarded to anyone who correctly predicts the dedication in the comments section.

He speaks on the inadequate work ethics of many local Twin Cities artists. Peter Parker is putting kids on the map with his Homegrown Heatrocks segment, local artists need to send him some records!

Peter Parker continues his Homegrown Heatrocks series on Minneapolis' B96. It's great to see a mainstream DJ showing love to the local scene like Peter Parker has been lately. This time the SP Style All Stars and Most Official stop through to drop some bars. On a side note, Peter Parker must love that beat, remember when he used it for Slug?
