The 9-song EP finds the band chasing a heavier, angrier sound than their previous releases, utilizing sounds of hard rock and distorted electronic backing tracks. Junkyard Empire ventured to Havana, Cuba for 10 days in August. They played 6 shows, engaged in several panel discussions, and did interviews with Cuba state radio and the largest hiphop and culture magazine in South America called The Movement. Graham O'Brien (drummer and beat-maker from Abzorbr and No Bird Sing) just put me up on this new project he is a part of, Junkyard Empire. Junkyard is a full 5 piece band heavy on hard-hitting political lyrics and a hip hop-jazz feel. The group just finished recording their debut EP, Rebellion Politik, which will have guests Desdamona and RDM (Abstract Pack). The the album is in mastering now, so stay on the lookout for that.
